James Karam

This scholarship was established in 2013 by James J. Karam. Students must be currently enrolled full-time at one of the UMass campuses; or a high school senior applying to any UMass campus. Students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher with a minimum of 12 credits earned at the University . Incoming freshmen must have a minimum GPA of 3.25 from High School. (Scholarship award will be contingent upon matriculation at a UMass campus). Students must demonstrate financial need of at least $4,000 as determined by campus financial aid office. Students from all majors are eligible as well as students who have yet to declare a major. Students will be a permanent resident of the South Coast of Massachusetts which includes the following towns: Acushnet, Dartmouth, Fairhaven, Fall River, Freetown, New Bedford, Somerset, Swansea, & Westport. Students may also be a resident of the town of Tiverton, RI. NOTE Deadline for this scholarship is March 26th.
